I probably would be the self-confessed expert on DIY home facials, Korean Skin Care, what treatments to have at the spa, but lately, my skin just does not glow!

I must be doing something wrong here!

Then, I remember an old aunt that I visited on her death bed. She had the most beautiful skin!  When I asked her what was her secret, she whispered, “Agua.”

Now isn’t that simple! Water hydrates our skin.

Also, she told me that what we put in our body is more powerful than any serum or moisturizer that we slather on our skin.

“No junk food. Just eat fruits, “she told me.

Let’s load up on smoothies for the skin!

Well, it has been really warm lately. I have promised myself that I will have a healthy, go-for-the-Korean-glass-skin smoothie every day, because why not?

So, here are my Five Smoothies Absolutely Guaranteed to give you Korean Glass Skin:

Apple Papaya Smoothie for Korean Glass Skin

Who would have thought that these two fruits would make for a great combination?

I have never really developed a taste for papaya, especially if it is over-ripe, but with this apple-papaya combination? OMG, I cant even!

Sweet and tart apples mixed with juicy papaya in a base of almond milk and silken tofu makes for a protein-rich smoothie that’s full of fruity goodness!

Here are the nutrients you can get:

  • Skin boosting enzymes from the apple and
  • Vitamins from the papaya that will nourish and tone your skin.

What You’ll Need:

  • Half a medium-size apple, cored, sliced, and frozen
  • About half a cup papaya chunks, frozen
  • ¾ cup almond milk
  • Half a cup silken tofu (not to be mistaken with firm tofu)
  • Sweet Basil or mint leaves plus a stick of cinnamon for presentation purposes (optional)

Let’s Blend Up This Fruity Smoothie!

1.Prepare ingredients for this apple papaya smoothie the day before because we need the fruities to be really frozen.  If you cannot freeze them the day before, try to limit the ice you will add to just about four cubes.  The silken tofu and the fruits’ flesh will be enough to thicken the smoothie. 


2. Place all your ingredients in a blender. By the way, I use this blender that I got from Zalora because it is so convenient. You just blend and go!

3. Pulse away until smooth. Try to get a yogurt-like consistency.

If you love berries and love getting your protein in your smoothie as well, this recipe is for you!

This blend of 2 popular berries, protein-rich silken tofu, and minerals-loaded banana will keep you full for hours. It’s also packed with antioxidants which fight both the visible and internal signs of aging. Perfect recipe for glass skin!

What You’ll Need:

  • Quarter cup almond milk
  • 1 cup silken tofu (not to be confused with the tofu for stir-fries)
  • 1 cup frozen bananas
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen bananas

Let’s Whip Up Some Delicious Smoothie!

  1. Clean the ingredients and freeze them. Take them out of the freezer at least 15 minutes before making the smoothie.

2. Add the ingredients to a blending bullet. add more liquid if you think the smoothie is too thick.

Good Morning Green Smoothie

They say that you should never, ever skip breakfast but we all know how that is often easier said than done.

With this tasty and refreshing green smoothie, you’ll have all the motivation you need to get out of your bed in the morning and start your day right. The secret is in the pineapples, the riper it is, the fruitier this smoothie tastes. You’ll never guess how much greens are in this! All these greens firm the skin and protect against the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

What You’ll Need:

  • About a cup ripe pineapple, cut into chunks and frozen
  • 2-3 big handfuls of fresh baby spinach
  • 1 small orange, peeled and frozen (or two if using the micro Chinese variety)
  • Half a cup orange juice or pineapple juice (add more if preferred)
  • Half a cup silken tofu

Let’s Blend Up this Baby!

  1. Prepare all the ingredients as specified. Take out the frozen ingredients out of the freezer at least 5 minutes prior to blending.

2. Place all the ingredients in a blender or blending bullet.

3. Blend until everything comes together, possibly adding extra liquid if the mixture seems too thick.

4. Pour into a serving glass for a fresh breakfast that’s impossible to skip. Garnish with pineapple for tropical feels!

Take note!


  • Silken tofu provides protein to keep you going.
  • Baby spinach is rich in folate, iron, and other ingredients that are good for you.
  • Oranges and pineapple has got a cartload of vitamin C that helps with absorbing the nutrients in the spinach as well as helps you with burning energy for the day ahead.
  • There is often no need for a sweetener but a tablespoon of honey or agave should do the trick if you’ve got a sweet tooth.

Tropical Trio Smoothie

Dreaming that you’re in the tropics and sipping away at some fruity tropical drink?

Actually, you can make this at home, and it’s a healthy vegan version too with this tropical trio smoothie! Not only is it super tasty but the high levels of vitamin E in the almond milk also make you achieve your glass skin like the Koreans.

What You’ll Need:

  • Half a ripe mango, only the flesh, frozen
  • About half a cup fresh pineapple chunks, frozen
  • Half a cup banana, sliced and frozen
  • Half a cup to a full cup of almond milk (or soy milk, or whatever milk you prefer).
  • A dash of cinnamon (optional)
  • Fruit slices or a stick of cinnamon for garnish (optional too)

  1. Gather all the ingredients. The beauty of this smoothie is you can definitely make pre-made individual servings by freezing the fruits in small Ziploc bags, ready for your use whenever you want!

2. To make the smoothie, simply place the banana slices, the mango, the pineapple chunks, and milk in a blender.

3. Blend everything together until smooth. You may add more milk if the smoothie is too thick for your liking. You may also add some cinnamon at this point.

Take Note!

  • To convert this light fruity tropical smoothie into a meal-replacement smoothie, simply add a scoop of protein powder and use a full cup of milk of your choice.
  • You can add chia seeds or flax seeds to make this smoothie even healthier. Don’t go over a tablespoon though!

Watermelon Kiwi Smoothie

Perfect for a hot summer day or whenever you need a burst of freshness, this watermelon kiwi smoothie will quench your thirst, leave you feeling fresh, and will satisfy your sweet tooth. It’s also a powerful anti-aging smoothie that nourishes the skin and prevents the skin discoloration giving you your coveted glass skin.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 kiwi, peeled, sliced, and frozen
  • Half a cup ice cold water
  • Lemon juice to taste
